Pinehurst Resort in the beautiful town of Pinehurst, North Carolina is an integral part of American history. One could say that golf's evolution and its very beginning's in the US can be found there.
Over the past decade another great evolution has been taking place at Pinehurst, the evolution of the haute cuisine and wine movement. The charge is led by Executive Chef Thierry Deballieul. This year the exceptional food and beverage team is hosting a series which continues to drive that legacy. Please continue reading below to find out more about the 2017 Culinary Series at Pinehurst Resort.
Three of North Carolina’s most well-known chefs will take part in a new culinary series at Pinehurst Resort this year that celebrates the state’s creative talents.
The Chef & Maker Series will feature Charlotte chef Clark Barlowe of Heirloom Restaurant, May 12-14; James Beard Award-winning chef Ashley Christensen of Raleigh’s Death and Taxes and Poole’s Diner, July 7-9; and James Beard-nominated Asheville chef Katie Button of Nightbell and Curate, Sept. 15-17.
Each weekend will start with the Pinehurst culinary team making dinners inspired by the featured chef’s cuisine. The Friday nights include a pig pickin’, comfort food or Spanish tapas. The events are open to the public. Tickets are $70 per person. Please view more information here. Pinehurst Chef & Maker.
The rest of the weekends’ schedules will vary but will include interactive demonstrations, workshops, chef dinners and more. Christensen and Button will sign their recently released cookbooks: “Poole’s Diner” (Christensen) and “Curate” (Button) for guests.
“Pinehurst has a long and storied history as a festive and comfortable setting for unique culinary events and we enjoy these types of collaborations,” says Pinehurst’s Executive Chef Thierry Debailleul in a news release.
Packages start at $399 per person and include two nights’ accommodations at one of the resort’s hotels, including The Carolina Hotel and The Holly Inn.
